IGOR

We have assembled a team working on the preparation and implementation of the Marind💚or Observatory construction project, which is part of the IGOR Center for Lifelong Learning in Nature. On Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12, 2025, we focused on topics related to the location and positioning of the observatory, infrastructure requirements, equipment selection, the observatory's purpose, funding methods, and we agreed on the timeline and content of upcoming activities.

The team includes: Damir Hržina, M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Zagreb Observatory; Alan Jadanić, astronomer, photographer, and educator from Astrokutak – Zagreb; and local experts Hrvoje Mikolčević, M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, whose hobby is astrophotography; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikola Gotovac, whose hobbies are astronomy and meteorology; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katarina Štavlić and M.Sc. Igor Štavlić, representing the IGOR Center.

On Friday, we spent time at our Center's location, and on Saturday, we visited the "Gea X" Astronomical Society in Slavonski Brod, met with society members and learned about their activities and equipment, and agreed on future collaboration… 💚

We marked International Women's Day in our own way – by planting linden trees in the forest area of the IGOR, Lifelong Learning Centre in Nature in Marind💚or. 🌳💚

The linden tree, a symbol of strength, peace, unity, and longevity, serves as a perfect reminder of the importance of women in society and nature. With this act, we not only contributed to environmental preservation but also created a space that will grow and bloom, just like the strength of every woman.💚

We marked the EuropeanMobilityWeek with a visit of 4th grade A and B students of Primary School Antun Kanižlić Požega on Friday, September 20, 2024. The students with teachers Joana Marić and Elvira Baričevac visited IGOR, Lifelong Learning Centre in Nature in Marindvor, where they enjoyed the oak forest and learned about nature and from nature through various activities. The visit passed in a happy atmosphere through learning and playing... 💚

Every year, from September 16 to 22, European schools join the EuropeanMobilityWeek. It is a campaign aimed at promoting sustainability and quality of life in cities. This year's theme is "Shared public space", whereby we are invited to decide together how we want to share our public space and take care of the safety of moving through public space.
